NewJeans is set to attend the "2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards" ceremony!

On January 25, ADOR announced that NewJeans is awarded the "Group of the Year" award at the "2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards", making them the first female K-pop act to receive an award in this category.

The group will also be taking part in the award ceremony as the representative of Korea on March 6 at YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California. The event will be streamed online on March 7. 

First started in 2007, the "Billboard Women in Music Awards" is an annual award ceremony that recognizes female artists, creators, producers, and executives who have made significant contributions to the music industry in the year.

Apart from NewJeans, this year's edition will feature a lineup of top female artists such as Maren Morris, Ice Spice, Charli XCX, Kylie Minogue, who are selected as winners in various categories. The ceremony will be hosted by renowned American actress Tracee Ellis Ross. 

NewJeans have been taking the global music industry by storm since their debut in 2022. Last year, the group entered 5 songs (‘OMG’, ‘Ditto’, ‘Super Shy’, ‘ETA’, and ‘Cool With You’) into Billboard’s "Hot 100" chart.

Their second mini album "Get Up" clinched No.1 on "Billboard 200" in the shortest period since debut among K-pop groups. As of January 24, the album has already been staying on the chart for 26 consecutive weeks, tying Blackpink's record or the longest-charting album by a K-pop girl group.

These achievements earned NewJeans "Top Global K-pop Artist" at the "Billboard Music Awards", one of the three major American music awards ceremonies, and became the first K-pop girl group to perform in the ceremony last month, proving their power as one of the most popular K-pop girl groups globally.
