BTS V continues to keep ARMY busy by releasing a new digital single "FRI(END)S"!

On March 5, Big Hit Music posted a promotion schedule of "FRI(END)S" on BTS official social media channels. A pink envelope with the word "FRI(END)S" is shown on the top, with the schedule written below. From the design of the schedule, many speculated that the song would be a love song of pop-soul R&B genre.

According to the schedule, V will first being releasing a short film on March 6, followed by 2 sets of concept photos and teaser videos, with a flash video being revealed on March 11. The music video will finally be released on March 15 at 1 PM KST/ 0 AM ET. 

 

 

After the announcement of V's new music, many ARMY had heated discussions on social media about the reason for the "END" in the song title is being highlighted. Some suspected that the song might be an extension of the song "FRIENDS", which was one of the b-side tracks in BTS's 2020 album "Map of the Soul: 7" created by Jimin and V together. 

"FRI(END)S" follows shortly after V released his solo debut studio album "Layover" in September last year. The album dominated various music charts both in Korea and overseas, including debuting at No.2 on the Billboard 200 chart and claiming top position on iTunes' Top 100 Album charts in 65 countries.

In addition, the album's title track "Slow Dancing" topped iTunes' Top 100 Songs charts in 75 countries. proving his international success as a solo singer. 

Meanwhile, V is currently undergoing his mandatory military service. He is expected to be discharged in June 2025.
