[Kpop Planet News] BTS's V Breaks Album Sales Record With "Layover"

BTS's V has achieved million-seller status with his solo debut album "Layover"!

The BTS vocalist dropped his debut solo album on September 8, which sold over 1.6 million copies on the day of its release according from Korea's leading physical album sales tracker Hanteo Chart.

This set a new record for K-pop soloists' first day sales, proving V's selling power. The top three of the chart are all BTS's members, with Jimin's "Face" and Agust D's (Suga) "D-Day" ranking second and third respectively.

"Layover" consists of six pop and R&B tracks. Each track showcases V's unique style and sensibility by expressing layered moods including longing, sadness, and desire.

The album claimed first place on iTunes' Top 100 Albums charts in 65 countries, and the title track "Slow Dancing" landed atop the iTunes' Top Songs charts in 75 countries on the first day. V's successful debut also marks the completion of all BTS members' solo debut.
