Stray Kids have clinched their fourth nomination in MTV VMAs for the Best Kpop Category, making this year a special one for the K-pop scene and its global rise.

The nomination is for their last release “Chk Chk Boom”, part of their ninth mini album “ATE”

The nomination started this week, opening a voting period so that fans can choose their favorite among the artists. The VMA ceremony will be on September 7, 2025 at the UBS Arena in New York, broadcast on MTV, CBS and Paramont+

Stray Kids has been nominated four times counting this year’s nomination.

It started on 2022 with their track “MANIAC” from their album “ODDINARY”, followed with the track “Special” from their album “5-STAR” and won the award with it. And then getting nominated once again with their track “Rock-STAR”, finally this year getting nominated consecutively with their track “Chk Chk Boom”, this makes Stray Kids the first male K-pop group with consistent presence on MTV nominations. 

Stray Kids fourth full length studio album, “KARMA” set to drop on August 22.

The upcoming album “KARMA” is set in a futuristic and sporty theme, centered on ‘Karma Sports’ and event with the same name as the album in which each member represents a former champion from the year 2080, competing for glory.

The track list was revealed on July 30^th, the new album counts with eleven tracks:

• In My Head
• Half Time
• Phoenix
• Ghost
• 0801
• Ceremony (Festival ver.)
• Ceremony (English ver.)

The track “0801” was featured on their teaser video with sporty aesthetics, flashy accessories and futuristic fashion.

The release of an English version of their lead track ensures wide appeal for the global market while the original version in Korean appeals on their domestic public.

Stray Kids consecutive MTV Video Music Awards nomination in the Best Kpop Category underscores their sustained global influence.
