
Stray Kids Sets a New Record With 2 Million Copies in 24 Hours
Stray Kids has surpassed 2 million copies in only 24 hours from the release of their fourth full length album ‘KARMA’, on August 23rd Hanteo Charts confirmed that the groups have sold more than a million copies setting a new record in the K-pop history.
The group’s fandom is getting bigger by each comeback and it shows as they are not only topping domestic charts but also global one such as Billboard. Although the data from Hanteo it is based mainly in the domestic market, the larger and initial results shows that it goes quite active overseas and in fact it is expected to have a bigger impact this time as Stray Kids just returned from their World Tour and this led to the entry of the group on the Billboard 200 Chart.
‘KARMA’ is Stray Kids new album after almost eight months since their special album ‘HOP’ which was released on December last year and it is the first full length one in a period of almost two years since June 2023.
The members expressed this album was made all their passion and effort as it was produced in between world tours, award stages and global promotions of the group.
Their goal with this album is to led the world know the versatility and different vocal colors of Stray Kids.
Music critiques said that this album will probably surpass BTS’s record and top over all the K-pop albums of the year as the sales of ‘KARMA’ just keep going up day by day.
In addition, Stray Kids has also succeeded in North America by winning awards such as the MTV Video Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards and the gold certification by the American Recording Industry Association (RIAA) in March of the present year.
