Saturday Night Live is launching its 52nd season with a fresh mix of sports, music and entertainment, bringing New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson to Studio 8H as the opening host alongside global girl group KATSEYE as musical guest.

The September 26 premiere marks an important milestone for both Brunson and KATSEYE, as each makes a first appearance on the legendary NBC sketch comedy program. For KATSEYE, the booking represents another major step in the group’s growing presence in the U.S. entertainment market.

KATSEYE has attracted an increasingly international audience with its multicultural lineup, polished performances and pop sound. Appearing on SNL gives the group an opportunity to reach viewers beyond its established fanbase while joining a long list of major artists who have performed on one of American television’s most recognizable late-night stages.

The new season will continue with a varied lineup of celebrities and musicians. Dakota Johnson is scheduled to host the October 3 episode with rock band Turnstile, followed by comedian Shane Gillis and musical guest Rosalía on October 10. The Halloween episode on October 31 will feature actress Inde Navarrette as host with Gracie Abrams providing the music.

The season also arrives following several changes within the SNL team, including the departures of Chloe Fineman and Martin Herlihy. Despite those changes, the show continues its long-running formula of combining comedy, topical sketches, celebrity hosts and live musical performances.

For KATSEYE, stepping onto the SNL stage adds another notable U.S. television appearance to the group’s expanding global career. With millions of viewers and significant attention surrounding a season premiere, the performance could introduce the group to an even broader mainstream audience.
