[Kpop Planet Visit] ATEEZ Conclude Opening Shows Of "Towards The Light" World Tour
ATEEZ held two opening shows for their new world tour "Towards The Light: Will To Power" successfully on January 27 and 28 in Seoul's Jamsil Indoor Stadium. Not only did the members put on a 3-hour show packed with electrifying performances, but they also took the opportunity to spread hope and support to ATINY, encouraging them to find and move towards their "light".
"Towards The Light: Will To Power" comes 9 months after their previous one "The Fellowship: Break the Wall Anchor in Seoul", which was held in April last year. The two-day sold-out concert drew 15,000 ATINY from all over the world, proving ATEEZ undeniable popularity globally.
Before the show, various booths were set up outside the venue for fans to purchase official merchandise and take life 4-cuts photos with special frames of the concert.
This world tour carries a meaningful theme that everyone has their own light, and we should find and move towards it without being swayed by others' opinions. The performances of the concert progressed under this theme, which depicted the story of the members being born with light, losing it through the gaze of others, struggling and finding it again, and finally becoming free from others' judgments.
The show first started with ATEEZ appearing from the "Tower of Light" at the center of the stage in white uniforms. The members performed their latest title track "Crazy Form", followed by "Say My Name" and "Win", drawing loud cheers from the audience.
The "Tower Of Light" was then turned into a surveillance tower looking at the audience, and the members were arrested one by one, depicting the process of losing the inner light of oneself. The members then changed to black outfits and performed some of their dark concept b-side tracks including "Wake Up" and "Cyberpunk", dazzling the audiences with their alluring charm. Hongjoong even played the electric guitar before performing "Guerrilla", which left the crowd in awe.
The members then moved on to the chapter of rediscovering their light with "Silver Light". The surveillance tower was then turned into a beacon in the sea as the members performed some of their bright concept songs including "Wave" and "Dancing Like Butterfly Wings".
In continuation of the cheerful atmosphere, the stage was transformed into the bar set that appeared in "Bouncy (K-Hot Chilli Peppers)", and the members performed "Arriba", "Django", and finally "Bouncy", illustrating the final chapter of the story that the members free themselves from others' judgment and have fun together. Finally, the members performed Symphony No. 9 rearranged version of "Wonderland", taking the show to the climax.
During the encore, a large hand-shaped balloon appeared on the extended stage, and the members performed a medley of some of their previous title tracks such as "I'm The One", and concluded the show with "Utopia".
Apart from group performances, the concert also featured all the unit songs that were included in their latest album. In particular, main vocalist Jongho demonstrated his angelic voice by singing his solo track "Everything", and Hongjoong and Seonghwa drove the audience into a frenzy with their electrifying hip-hop track "MATZ".
During the concert, the members shared their thoughts on the theme of the tour, and encouraged ATINY to find and move towards their light. San told the audience "All of you are shining by yourselves, so don't be afraid of moving towards your goals." The members also said that ATEEZ will always be next to ATINY and supporting them.
The members also constantly expressed their gratitude to ATINY for coming to the concert and always supporting them, and stated their determination to work even harder in the future. "We have brought so many good news at the start of the year, such as going to Coachella in April...We promise to bring even more good news to all of you," Hongjoong said.
After concluding the performance in Seoul, ATEEZ will continue their World Tour in Saitama, Japan, on February 3-4. More updates on the tour schedule will be announced later.
Congratulations to ATEEZ for holding the two opening concerts successfully, and let's continue to show the members support for their upcoming shows in the tour!
