K-pop continues to expand its global influence, and Billboard’s latest selection of the best K-pop songs of 2026 so far offers an interesting snapshot of where the genre is heading.

Among the 25 songs selected by Billboard staff and Billboard Korea editors, KiiiKiii’s “404 (New Era)” claimed the top position. The song’s distinctive concept and unconventional approach helped the rookie girl group stand out in an increasingly competitive K-pop market. The title itself plays on the familiar internet error code “404,” turning the idea of being “not found” into part of the group’s musical identity.

The list also highlighted a wide range of artists, showing that K-pop’s current appeal goes well beyond its biggest established names. Hearts2Hearts ranked second with “RUDE!”, while AKMU placed third with “Paradise of Rumors.” CORTIS and NMIXX followed in fourth and fifth place with “RedRed” and “Crescendo.”

The rest of the top 10 included tracks from moyo, Joji, Sol and Tama, NCT WISH, wave to earth, 82MAJOR, and BTS. BTS’ “Body to Body” reached No. 10, demonstrating the group’s continued presence on major international music lists.

Several other major K-pop acts also appeared throughout the ranking. aespa, Taeyong, WOODZ, P1Harmony, and EXO were among the artists represented from No. 11 through No. 20. The final five positions featured Kim Jae-hwan, BTS, BLACKPINK, RIIZE, and idntt.

BTS appeared twice on the list, with “Body to Body” at No. 10 and “SWIM” at No. 22. BLACKPINK’s “GO” also made the ranking at No. 23, adding another notable milestone during the group’s 10th anniversary year.

One of the most interesting aspects of Billboard’s selection is the balance between established global stars and newer acts. Rather than focusing exclusively on commercially dominant artists, the list reflects a broader K-pop landscape in which emerging groups are increasingly capable of attracting international attention.

For K-pop fans, the ranking also provides a useful playlist for discovering some of the year’s most talked-about releases. From experimental rookie acts to veteran performers making their return, Billboard’s selection suggests that K-pop in 2026 is becoming more diverse, adventurous, and globally visible.
