[Kpop Planet News] aespa To Return With "Drama" In November

MY, hold your breath as metaverse girls aespa is back!

On October 11, aespa officially announced that they will be returning with their fourth mini album "Drama" on November 10 at 2PM KST. The group also dropped an intro teaser for the comeback. The video shows four people walking around a shabby neighborhood with only the legs revealed, giving out mysterious feeling and leaving MY to wonder about the concept of the new album.

According to Korean news outlet, the upcoming album features six songs with various genres including the title track "Drama", showcasing a more mature side of the members' vocals and the unique music style of aespa. This will be the group's first comeback this year following "My World" released in May.

The album not only broke aespa's own album pre-order sales record, but also set a new record for K-pop girl group first day album sales of 1.37 million copies. The title track "Spicy" also topped the iTunes' Top Album charts in 20 countries worldwide and China's QQ Music New Release Chart, as well as won first place in various Korean music shows. 

With the huge success of the previous release, MY around the world are excited for aespa's comeback. Many commented that they can't wait for the group to drop another global hit and dominate the music chart with the new album.  

Meanwhile, aespa was awarded Artist of the Year (Bonsang) and Worldwide Icon in The Fact Music Awards 2023 on October 10, a recognition to the group's global popularity as one of the hottest 4th generation K-pop sensations. The group also performed their latest English song "Better Things" and "Spicy" at the ceremony.

After the show, MY from all over the world congratulated aespa for the awards and praised the members for their mesmerizing performance on social media channels. Many are pleased to see the group's incredible improvement after their first world tour "Synk: Hyper Line", which just ended last month.
