[Kpop Planet News] BTS Jungkook And Jimin To Start Military Service Today

The day has finally arrived -- all seven members of BTS are now enlisted.

Jungkook and Jimin are starting their military service today (December 12). Both of them will enter the same military recruit training camp of the Army, following their teammates RM and V, who were enlisted at a different camp a day before. 

As the other three members Jin, Suga, and J-Hope have already begun their military service one by one starting from last December, all seven members of BTS are now enlisted, meaning that group activity will be on hiatus officially. Big Hit Music previously stated that they hope BTS would resume activities as a full group in 2025. 

 

 

Same as Jin and J-Hope, the four newly enlisted members are fulfilling their military service as active-duty soldiers and are expected to be discharged in June 2025. While Suga is serving as a social service agent as he has been deemed “unfit for the regular combat duty.”

The four members took time to meet ARMY on Weverse for the last time before joining the military. RM confessed that he is "afraid and scared" to start his military life, but said that he wishes to learn lessons and gain inspirations from the experience. V posted on Instagram "Shaved head with sunglasses... I wanted to try it someday. Good for me."

Jungkook and Jimin held a livestream on Weverse to say farewell to ARMY. Jungkook comforted his fans, saying that military is a place where men should definitely go, while Jimin said that enlisting with Jungkook would allow him to receive a lot of support. He also promised ARMY that he will come back after doing a good job. 

All of them also uploaded a photo of themselves with short hair as a final gift for ARMY. 

Meanwhile, the music video of Jungkook's solo song "Seven" surpassed 300 million views on YouTube this morning. Many ARMY shared the news on social media to congratulate Jungkook, saying that they will wait for his return. 

"Seven" was included in Jungkook's debut solo album "GOLDEN" and has achieved global popularity since its release in July, that it reached No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 main single chart and conquered various music charts around the world. The song is even the 10 most searched song on Google globally in 2023.
