BTS Jungkook continues his golden journey as he won four awards at the Melon Music Awards 2023 (MMA 2023)!

MMA 2023 was successfully held at Yeongjong Island in Incheon on December 2. This year, the ceremony features performances from established K-pop groups such as SHINee and NCT Dream, as well as rookie acts such as ZEROBASEONE, KISS OF LIFE, and NewJeans. 

Jungkook won a total of four awards at the ceremony, including Best Male Solo, the Millions Top 10, the Top 10 (Bonsang) for albums achieving over one million streams within 24 hours of release, and the Hot Trend Award. This made him the most awarded soloist in this year's MMA.

Jungkook has set several remarkable records in Melon charts this year. His solo song "Seven" reached the top spot on the main chart "Top 100" in just 11 hours after its release, making him the fastest solo artist to achieve so in 2023. Jungkook also became the first male idol to rank first in the "Top 100" and Melon weekly chart, and the fastest one to receive 100,000 likes this year. 

Earlier, he has also secured the top spot on the Melon weekly popularity chart "Top 20" with "Seven" for four consecutive weeks and once with his self-composed song 'Still with You,' earning a total of five consecutive wins.

Following this, he topped the charts twice consecutively with another solo single "3D" and "Standing Next to You", the title track of his debut solo album "GOLDEN", achieving a total of nine No.1 in the Korean major streaming platform. The album has now sold over 500,000 unit in the US, making Jungkook the first K-pop soloist to achieve this record. 

In addition, BTS won the Top 10 (Bonsang) and Kakaobank Favourite Artist award in recognition of the group's popularity in both Korea and overseas. 

ARMY around the world immediately shared the news and congratulated Jungkook on social media after the result announcement, saying that they are proud of Jungkook's achievement.

Meanwhile, Jungkook will follow his members to begin military service on December 12. According to Korean media reports, V and RM will join the duty on the 11th, and Jimin will start on the same date as Jungkook.
