BTS's Jungkook was crowned the top-selling solo K-pop artist of the year! 

According to the "2023 Cumulative Album (Physical) Sales Top 15 (Weeks 1-50)" released by Circle Chart, Jungkook's debut solo album "GOLDEN" has recorded an impressive sales of 2,702,453 copies, marking the highest cumulative album sales in 2023 for all K-pop solo male and female artists. 

The album also ranked 12th overall among K-pop groups and solo artists, and 9th among male groups and solo artists.

Since its release in November last year, "GOLDEN" has been well-received both domestically and internationally. The album surpassed 2 million copies in sales within 5 hours of its release, achieving 'Double Million Seller' status.

On the day of its release, the album also set a new record by topping the K-pop solo artist initial sales (album sales in the first week after release) chart with sales from that day alone. The album also sold a total of 2,501,158 copies within two weeks of its release, marking the first time in 13 years that a solo album sold over 2.5 million copies.

Outside of Korea, "GOLDEN" has made history by entering the "Billboard 200" main album chart at 2nd place, and became the first and only Asian solo artist album to stay within the top 50 for seven consecutive weeks. It also became the first-ever solo K-pop artist album to record a sales of over 500,000 units in the US in 2023.

It also remained  in the 'Top 100' chart of the UK Official Albums for 7 consecutive weeks, marking the highest rank ever among debut solo K-pop artists. 

Furthermore, it set various records, such as becoming the fastest album to surpass 2 billion on Spotify in just 42 days. It also achieved 10 billion streams, making Jungkook the first and only Korean solo artist to achieve this on YouTube Music. 

On the day of New Year's Eve, Jungkook even became the first and fastest Korean soloist to surpass 4.2 billion streams across all credits on his solo Spotify profile, creating a historic milestone. Many ARMY were overjoyed and shared this news on social media platform, saying that they are so proud of Jungkook.

Jungkook finishes the year, surpassing 4.2 BILLION streams on Spotify, extending his iconic record as the 1st K-pop soloist and fastest K-pop act to reach this huge mark in the most influential music platform globally.
