[Kpop Planet News] BTS V Dominates Music Charts Globally with FRI(END)S
BTS V continues to make waves in the global music scene despite severing his mandatory military duty.
On March 15, V released a new digital single "FRI(END)S". The single topped the iTunes Top Song charts in 87 countries globally in less than 24 hours after its release.
The song also secured top position on the Worldwide iTunes Song and European iTunes Song charts, and entered the Oricon's Daily Single Ranking at No.2.
Additionally, "FRI(END)S" has recorded over 4.72 million streams on Spotify on the first day of its release. The song also landed at No.7 on the music streaming platform's Daily Top Song Global playlist, breaking V's personal record set by "Love Me Again", a B-side track from his debut solo album "Layover", which entered the chart at the 10th place on August 11 last year.
Apart from dominating music charts and streaming platforms internationally, the song has also surpassed 6.7 million views on YouTube and topped trending music video charts in various countries.
"FRI(END)S" is a mid-tempo pop-soul R&B love song written entirely in English with soothing beat, which highlights V's unique vocal color. The song is about V falling in love with a girl whom he has been friends with since a long time. While the girl considers V just as a friend, V decides to stop hiding his true feelings and put an end to their friendship by confessing his love towards her.
V shared his thoughts over the song through a press release on Friday, in which he said that he found this song when he was looking for a song to leave for fans to enjoy while he was away. "It’s a charming song and I think ARMY will like it." he added, expressing his love towards the song.
Congratulations to V for the global success of "FRI(END)S"! Do you enjoy "FRI(END)S" and the music video?
