JENNIE Writes History, RIAA Proves Her Power
Jennie from BLACKPINK makes history in the K-pop industry by receiving a certification from the RIAA.
Jennie’s album ‘Ruby’ surpassed 500,000 units sold and streamed just in the United States this makes her a candidate for a GOLD certification, this makes a total of four RIAA certified songs for Jennie, this is the most ever achieved by a solo K-pop artist and the first Korean female soloist to have Platinum certification from the RIAA.
Her first song to get certified was ‘One of the Girls’ a collaboration with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, then back in August, Jennie got ‘Mantra’ and ‘Like Jennie’ certified with GOLD then her song ‘ExtraL’ featuring Doechii.
Since the U.S. market is considered the benchmark of music global influence this means her album ‘Ruby’ resonance not only in South Korea but globally outstanding her success as a soloist and raising the bar as the first K-pop soloist having multiple certifications from the RIAA history.
Her fans are celebrating her achievement and leaving messages of pride and joy as this opens up a new chapter for her career as a soloist expanding her horizons into more than just K-pop and sharing bold ways to be an inspiration for future K-pop artist than want to conquer the global market.
This also shows that there are no barriers such as language, nationality or genre in order to come across global charts and echoing in someone’s mind, promising new achievement for the K-pop expansion.
