[Kpop Planet News] SEVENTEEN To Hold Their Own Session At UNESCO Youth Forum In Paris

SEVENTEEN is going to make a special appearance at the UNESCO Youth Forum next month!

On October 27, Pledis Entertainment announced that SEVENTEEN will be addressing the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum, which will be held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on November 14 at 7PM Paris Time / 2AM Korean Time.

During the special session, SEVENTEEN will make a speech regarding the importance of education and solidarity between youth in changing the future of young people and the world. The members will also suggest roles that young people can take in carrying out sustainable development based on their own experiences. The group will also be performing in the forum, which will last for around an hour.

SEVENTEEN will be the first K-pop act to be given an entire session at the forum, as well as the third K-pop group to be giving a speech at an UN agency following BTS and aespa. Pledis stated that this testifies the group's rise as an icon representing youth beyond the K-pop fandom.

The UNESCO Youth Forum is a biennial event held alongside the UNESCO General Conference. The forum provides a precious opportunity for youth representatives around the world to share their experiences and thoughts about the challenges that they are facing, and to explore solutions collectively. This year, the forum will be held on November 13 and 14 at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France.

CARAT around the world are thrilled about SEVENTEEN's participation in the forum. Many shared the news on social media platforms congratulating SEVENTEEN for making history at the global stage, saying that they are proud of them and are looking forward to the group's powerful performance in the forum. Some also commented that it is incredible to see SEVENTEEN using this forum as a platform to inspire the youth around the world and address important global issues.

The upcoming forum is not the first time for SEVENTEEN to take part in a UNESCO event. Back in January this year, the group launched a donation campaign in collaboration with the Korean National Commission for UNESCO to support education of underprivileged children and youth in Africa and Asia. The campaign is a part of UNESCO’s global #GoingTogether campaign which aims to raise awareness on the importance of education.

Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN have made a comeback with their new mini album "SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN" on October 23. The album not only recorded the highest number of pre-order sales in K-pop history of 5.2 million copies, but also broke Hanteo Chart's record for highest first-week sales within just four days, making it one of the group's best-selling albums after "FML". The title track "God Of Music" also became the fastest idol song to top the MelOn TOP100 music chart in Korea.

Congratulations to SEVENTEEN for holding their own UNESCO Youth Forum session!
